The incident occurred when a piece of raising equipment known as a mast climber collapsed while being dismantled, contractors said. The equipment struck an 8-foot-wide section of an approximately 30-foot-high sectional masonry wall, knocking that section over across the job site. Contractors and district officials said the fallen wall stopped just short of the emergency walkway used for building egress.
District and contractor officials told the committee the site was evacuated, emergency medical services were notified and dispatched, and teachers and neighbors who came to the scene confirmed EMS was on site. “No injuries were reported, and there was no property damage”…
