The presentation summarized qualifications the board previously requested and asked supervisors to submit a final single nominee each for formal appointment at the March 25 meeting.
Assistant Chief Administrative Officer Elisa Benson explained the matrix will help supervisors compare nominees across districts. She said the cities will forward their nominees and staff will collect full application materials prior to the final appointment package. Public commenters thanked the board for a quick formation timeline and urged a committee with diverse expertise — especially knowledge of fire resilience, water resources, open‑space management and community access to parks.
The board voted unanimously to accept the staff report and to proceed: each supervisor will select a final nominee from the candidates they put forward and the board will vote on the appointments at the March 25 meeting. Staff said city nominees and completed applications will be included in the appointment packet.
