County staff say new 3,700-acre solar application filed that wraps Elk Creek project

Dunn County staff told supervisors March 12 that another large solar installation has submitted paperwork to the Wisconsin Public Service Commission and that the proposed site essentially wraps around the existing Elk Creek solar project.
County staff said the new proposal covers about 3,700 acres and that PSC review of a similar Elk Creek filing took roughly a year. Land information staffer Rachel Wells was assigned to prepare maps for the board so supervisors could see the proposed siting relative to the Elk Creek installation.
The county manager said the filing had been received the prior week or earlier and that staff would provide a map at the next board meeting to show where the new application sits in relation to prior filings.
