Java House at Clay Terrace highlights cold brew, spring menu and new mobile app

Java House owner said the chain launched its Clay Terrace location to spotlight cold-brew coffee and is rolling out seasonal drinks and a redesigned mobile ordering app.

The owner told an interviewer that Java House's founders “had a kind of a clear vision on wanting to bring the cold brew aspect of coffee to life,” and that the cafés emphasize a cold-brew process distinct from iced coffee. “What we're doing is we're steeping the grounds in cold water for 12 to 24 hours,” the owner said.

That process, the owner said, produces a smoother, less bitter flavor that Java House uses across standard drinks. “We put that into all your traditional drinks so you can get that as a latte, hot or cold,” the owner said, and the café also offers cold-brewed teas.

The owner described one of the spring seasonal offerings by name and composition: “That's called our, peachy paradise. So it's a black tea, peach vanilla tea with cold foam on top,” adding that pistachio-flavored drinks will also appear on the seasonal menu.

On other business updates, the owner said Java House released a revamped mobile ordering app. “It makes the user experience a lot easier. Your rewards are all in one place. You can order ahead and pick up whenever you want,” the owner said, and added that the app allows buying and sending gift cards.

The interviewer noted community engagement, thanking the owner for participating in the local Caffeine Trail and community events. The owner said the Clay Terrace café is one of the chain’s higher-floor locations and that the team enjoys being part of the neighborhood.
