The House Finance Committee granted a sponsor’s request to postpone House Bill 11‑28 indefinitely on Oct. 12. Representative Espinosa, who presented the bill, asked the committee to delay consideration because of current budgetary pressures and said the measure would return to the legislature at a later time.
“I'm here, on house bill 11‑28 requesting that it be postponed indefinitely. In due respect to the budgetary concerns of this year, I think we need not waste any more time on this bill,” Espinosa said on the record.
The committee acted on the sponsor’s motion; Ms. Shipley called the roll and the motion passed. No further testimony had been presented and the bill was removed from active consideration for the session.
Ending: House Bill 11‑28 was postponed indefinitely; sponsors plan to revisit the proposal in a later session if circumstances change.
