Sarasota, Fla. — The New College Board of Trustees voted to ratify changes to the collective bargaining agreement with the Florida Police Benevolent Association for fiscal year 2024–25, approving a 5% pay increase for eligible employees effective July 7.
Patrick Brickhouse, vice president for legal affairs, presented the management recommendation and said the action brings the college current in the negotiating process for the fiscal year beginning in July 2024. The board conducted a roll-call vote and approved the agreement.
Trustees said the change aligns the college’s police compensation with negotiated terms and closed the item with a vote recorded in the meeting minutes.
