The Tupelo City Council approved a contract with Carvatize for out-of-home mobile billboard advertising aimed at secondary tourism markets, including Houston, Texas; Nashville, Tennessee; and Memphis, Tennessee.
Stephanie, who presented the contract, told the council the campaign uses 35 wrapped vehicles and will run for 8 to 12 weeks per contract. The program includes car wraps, routed advertising, event “swarms” at special events, analytics and heat maps, and driver handouts to passengers. Stephanie said the campaign is funded from the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) regular budget and expands secondary-market outreach the city previously opened using ARPA funds.
Council members moved and seconded to approve the media contract. The motion passed by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded on the public record.
The presenter said the contract includes complementary print, digital, and public-relations activations in those markets but did not provide a total contract dollar amount during the meeting. The council did not request additional budget detail at the time of approval.
