The Biloxi City Council voted to suspend the rules, approve an amended agenda and pass the consent and routine agendas during its March 17 meeting at Biloxi City Hall.
The council suspended the rules early in the meeting and later approved an amended agenda that substituted a resolution to amend the police department budget to pay contractual obligations into the consent agenda. The mayor announced the amended motion, noting a motion by Councilmember Earl Lawrence and a second by Councilmember Guynes; the clerk recorded the vote as 6-0 with Councilmember Newman not yet present.
Council members said little in debate on the consent items. The council then approved the consent agenda on a 7-0 voice vote and later approved an amended routine agenda after a motion to remove a specific parcel under section 2. The motion to amend the routine agenda was made from the dais and seconded by Councilmember Earl Lawrence; the council approved that change unanimously.
Votes at a glance: the clerk recorded the following actions and tallies at the meeting.
All actions and vote tallies were recorded by the clerk as part of the meeting minutes; no roll-call breakdown of individual yes/no votes beyond the clerk’s announced tallies was read into the record for the consent and routine approvals.
The council adjourned after scheduling a workshop to follow its next regular meeting on March 18.
