Zach Almond, speaking on behalf of Colavita and a Charlotte-area real estate building industry coalition, asked the council to “please give us a sewer allocation at the next meeting.” He added that the site previously housed trailers that have been cleared.
Terry Fink, a local resident who said members of longstanding local families have ties to the area, also urged council support for completion of the project. Attorney Larry Sheehan described the site at the corner of Weddington Road and Pitt School Road, noted prior rezoning and preliminary plat approvals in 2021, and said the developer has executed an agreement with WeBuild Concord to provide eight affordable lots.
