The Lawrenceburg Redevelopment Commission approved transferring $70,000 from the redevelopment fund to the Main Street program to support a new-home purchase initiative at its March 10, 2025 meeting.
Executive Director Bridal Messmore said the program offers 10% assistance up to $35,000 and is intended to support new construction purchases; Messmore said recent activity includes multiple new homes anticipated this year. "I would like to ... move $70,000 from our fund to Main Street for the new home purchase program," Messmore said. She said the program typically supports 10 percent of the purchase price up to $35,000 and that current new-home prices are running about $350,000.
A commissioner moved and seconded the reallocation; commissioners voted in favor and the chair declared the motion passed. Staff will record the transfer in the commission's accounts and report back as program applications are awarded.
