Shasta County names Josh Fugate employee of the month for February 2025

The Shasta County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution on Feb. 4 naming Joshua "Josh" Fugate, Permit Center Manager in the Department of Resource Management, as Shasta County Employee of the Month for February 2025.
The resolution, introduced by the board, cited Fugate’s years of service (county employment since April 2012, Resource Management since December 2014), his work as a permit specialist and building inspector, and his leadership of the permit center. Sean Ewing, director of Resource Management, told the board that Fugate studied independently to obtain ICC combination inspector certification, helped streamline customer service, and supported staff training and cross-division coordination.
The board adopted the resolution by voice vote. Supervisors praised Fugate’s calm demeanor and problem-solving skills; Fugate thanked colleagues and family, saying the recognition represented “all of us in the department.” The board presented a set of small awards and gift certificates as part of the recognition.
Vote: Adopted by voice vote; result recorded as "passes 5 votes."
