Supervisors name negotiators for potential alternative-custody site

The Shasta County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday unanimously approved a motion to name county negotiators for a city-owned parcel that the sheriff has identified as a potential site for expansion of the county’s alternative custody program.
The item, introduced by Bryce Ritchie, senior administrative analyst in the County Administrative Office, described the requirement in California Government Code section 54956.8 to identify real property negotiators and the property involved. Mr. Ritchie told the board the assessor parcel number in question is APN 050050010 and that it is one of three locations the sheriff has identified as a possibility for the program; he said the parcel is owned by the City of Redding.
Under the motion, the board appointed Dave J. Rickert, county executive officer; Bryce Ritchie, senior administrative analyst; and Jen Rossi, senior administrative analyst as real property negotiators for the parcel. The motion to approve was made by Supervisor Plummer and seconded by Supervisor Harmon; the board voted 5-0 to approve.
