The Siskiyou County Planning Commission approved a boundary line adjustment (BLA24-25) at its February meeting that will merge four parcels into a single 1.89‑acre lot at 5103 Stag Mountain Road in Lake Shastina.
Senior planner James Phelps told the commission the request was before the panel because the resulting parcel would have double frontage; after the county’s general plan and zoning ordinance update similar BLAs will be processed administratively. Staff reported the project is consistent with the general plan and zoning for the area and that comments were received from Environmental Health, Public Works and CAL FIRE. One public comment was filed and staff recommended adoption of the CEQA findings and approval of the BLA.
Terry Curry, representing the applicants (the Wilsons), told commissioners residents in Lake Shastina often consolidate parcels to reduce property‑owner association fees by paying fees on a single parcel rather than multiple lots. No speakers opposed the application. Commissioner Lindler moved to adopt Resolution PC2025‑002 approving the Wilson boundary line adjustment and to determine the project exempt from CEQA Guidelines §15305(a) (minor alterations in land use limitations); Commissioner Mello seconded. The motion passed by voice vote with all commissioners present voting in favor.
Staff noted that boundary line adjustments are typically exempt from CEQA and that any subsequent development of the consolidated parcel would require whatever permits or reviews are applicable at that time.
