At the March 12 City Council meeting a resident, Luis Valdez, urged the council to study installing either a four‑way stop or a traffic signal at the intersection he identified as "Northwest 80 Second Street and Northwest 100 And Twelfth Avenue," saying the crossing is near Doral Legacy Park and sees many pedestrians and children.
"This is an intersection that I feel is 1 of the most dangerous in the city of Doral," Valdez said. He told the council a crash had happened that afternoon and that he and neighbors frequently hear screeching tires. "There are numerous pedestrians, families, people walking their paths, people with young kids, going to and from that park, all the time," Valdez said, asking the council to "please study installing either a 4 way stop sign or even better traffic lights at this intersection to make it safer for our community."
Mayor Christie Fraga asked the manager's office to have Public Works Director Carlos Arroyo meet Valdez after the meeting to follow up. "I'm actually going to through the manager's office ask for Carlos Arroyo to see you in the back, our public works director, so that, he can address this and take it down as we will follow‑up with it," the mayor said.
