Board approves proclamations, tourism advisory appointments and new paralegal classifications

At its February meeting the Trinity County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved three retirement proclamations, confirmed appointees to a new Tourism Development Advisory Board and authorized new paralegal classifications for the District Attorney's office.
The Trinity County Board of Supervisors on Feb. 18, 2025, unanimously approved a series of routine and personnel items, including proclamations honoring three retiring county employees, appointment of four members to a newly formed Tourism Development Advisory Board and creation of paralegal job classifications for the district attorney's office.
The actions were taken by roll-call votes during the board's regular meeting. The board passed proclamations recognizing Connie Smith, director of behavioral health services; Marcy Jo (last name in record: Kudzel/Kuzo) as Public Health Branch Director; and Lance (last name in record: Florky/Lorkey) from the probation department, and extended retirement wishes for their service. Each proclamation was moved and seconded and carried on unanimous recorded votes.
The board also approved appointments to a Tourism Development Advisory Board intended to advise county staff and supervisors on tourism initiatives. Supervisors announced four nominees for confirmation: Leah Groves (District 1), Ryan Crockett (District 2), Dana Hauser (District 3) and Dana Stanhauser (District 4). The board approved the list of nominees by motion and recorded unanimous approval; one district seat (District 5) remained vacant and will be brought forward later.
Separately, the board approved human resources recommendations to add paralegal classifications to the county's classification roster for the District Attorney's Office including Paralegal I and Paralegal II ranges and related allocation-list adjustments. Staff said positions would be funded through the normal budget process (anticipated in the July budget cycle) and provided approximate salary-and-benefit rates for planning purposes. The motion to approve the allocations and side-letter agreement with the general unit carried on a unanimous vote.
