Mount Rogers official outlines Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic model for rural counties

Davis said the CCBHC model is a federally-endorsed approach to delivering comprehensive behavioral-health services and is designed to improve care in rural areas by offering a consistent “menu” of services — similar to how federally qualified health centers standardize primary-care offerings. She said the model aims to ensure that people in small communities can expect the same array of behavioral-health and integrated primary-care options they might find in a larger city.
Davis told supervisors she had limited time but offered to return with more detail and provided a handout in the meeting packet summarizing accomplishments from the prior year. She identified herself as a resident and the project director and said Mount Rogers had been asked to brief the board following a meeting between the organization’s CEO and county staff.
Board response: The board accepted the handout and staff indicated they would coordinate any follow-up if supervisors wanted a more detailed presentation during a future meeting.
What’s next: Davis said she would be glad to return to present additional details and data to the board upon request.
