Speakers in a video segment emphasized student advocacy as a key factor in bringing both sports to FCPS and described the social and mental-health benefits of extracurricular participation.
Board members discussed expanding opportunities such as JV squads for boys volleyball and ensuring equitable access to non-athletic activities (speech and debate, winter guard) across high schools. The Board committed to ensuring new activities roll out countywide rather than being limited to a handful of schools.
