Board approves short procedural motions: executive session and adjournment
Summary
At the end of the workshop the board approved a motion to enter executive session to discuss midyear goals with the superintendent and deputy superintendent, and later approved a motion to adjourn.
Near the end of the March 11 workshop the board approved two procedural motions recorded on the transcript.
At 94:95–95:75 (transcript timecodes shown in source excerpts) a motion was made to add and go into executive session to discuss midyear goals with Superintendent Dr. Estrella and Deputy Superintendent Sandra Fayolos. The motion was recorded on the transcript as moved by Sherry McCready Pritchett and seconded by Mary Ellen Flowery Ledway; the chair called for the vote and the transcript records affirmative responses. The board then recessed to executive session.
Later, following the executive session, a motion to adjourn was made and seconded by Jasmine Precy; the transcript records the motion and a voice vote of "aye." The meeting adjourned thereafter.
These procedural actions were routine and recorded as motions and voice votes in the workshop transcript; no formal substantive policy votes were taken during the public portion of the midyear workshop.
