Superintendent announces two principal appointments and an associate superintendent promotion

Toya Matthews was named principal at Marancas Middle College. The superintendent said Matthews currently serves as principal at Dorothy J. Vaughn Academy and has more than 32 years of experience within Charlotte‑Mecklenburg Schools.
Brenda Mills was announced as principal at Dorothy J. Vaughn Academy at Parkside. Hill said Mills currently serves as principal at Parkside Elementary and has more than 26 years of experience in the district.
Dr. Kimberly Schroeder was announced as the district’s new associate superintendent of learning and teaching for the Office of School Performance. Hill said Schroeder previously served as assistant superintendent for high‑school performance and has 25 years of experience.
The board adopted the meeting agenda and approved the consent agenda by unanimous consent earlier in the meeting. A consent‑agenda motion to approve items was moved by board member Cline and seconded by board member Easley; the clerk recorded an affirmative vote of eight members.
