Board creates Board Operations policy, modifies Superintendent‑Board Relations; motion passes unanimously

Vice Chair Rankin moved on Feb. 25, 2025, to create a new board policy, B‑POPS (Board Operations), and to modify an existing policy, B‑SUPT (Superintendent/Board Relations). The board approved the motion by unanimous show of hands.
The new Policy B‑POPS defines the essential functions of board operations, procedures and standards for responding to public requests and constituent services, and duties of the board clerk, according to the motion presented to the board. The modification to Policy B‑SUPT removes section 2(b), which had addressed constituent services and responsiveness.
"I move to approve the proposed creation of policy b dash b o p s board operations and modification of policy b dash s u p t superintendent slash board relations," Vice Chair Rankin said during the meeting. Rankin also noted that the policy committee considered the request and recommended approval at its Jan. 16, 2025, meeting.
The chair called for a show of hands and the clerk confirmed the vote was unanimous. The board recorded no roll‑call tally in the public transcript; the clerk announced the motion carried.
