Board President Collier said the board voted to grant emeritus status to Susan DeLapp, the manager of business and fiscal operations for online and learning engagement, following her planned retirement.
The action came during the board's plenary session after Dr. Best recommended emeritus status for DeLapp, noting she will retire effective Jan. 31, 2025 and that her term of service will have been 26 years, six months and 13 days. A motion to award emeritus status was made and seconded; the board approved the recommendation by voice vote. "All in favor? Aye. Anyone opposed? Motion carries," Collier said.
Following the vote, the board invited DeLapp to receive a certificate and take a photo. Collier also acknowledged the presence of Philip Piantek, an officer with the Maritime Retiree Association, who joined the board in formally welcoming DeLapp to the association.
DeLapp's title and the retirement date were read into the record during the meeting packet presentation; the board did not discuss additional conditions or follow-up actions tied to the emeritus award.
The board moved on to other items after the presentation and photo opportunity.
