The superintendent said the boundary review will also include an update of walking routes by the transportation department and that the district intends to give impacted families substantial advance notice.
In a separate outreach initiative the district has identified 245 former students who left since 2020 and will contact them and their families to determine whether they have completed programs elsewhere or would be willing to re-engage with district pathways such as GED or credit-recovery options.
"We have pulled up a list and identified 245 students going back to 2020," the superintendent said. Staff named Nike and Kirk as having already reviewed the list and noted which families had recent communication on record.
During the meeting the board accepted a community donation account established by a local business group and heard that an additional $1,000 gift had been added to that account. Representatives from the business partners described an ongoing fundraising program tied to customer debit-card activity and an affinity debit-card program designed to route a small contribution back to the district when customers use the card.
