Definitive Cuts Barbershop opens in St. John, owner praises town’s permitting structure

Steven Singh and his wife, Jennifer, introduced Definitive Cuts Barbershop to the St. John Economic Development Committee on March 12 and said the business has opened at 8460 Wicker Drive, in Jameson Plaza behind the Taco Bell.
Singh, who identified himself as the shop owner, said Definitive Cuts moved to St. John after closing two prior locations. He said the owners wanted “to provide good services for the community and to be a part of the community” as the town grows.
Singh told the committee that the permitting and opening process in St. John was more structured than they encountered in some prior towns. He said the extra paperwork and procedures were “necessary for us to open” and ultimately showed that “the town is really serious about people coming in, opening up businesses.” Singh added that the experience educated the owners about the local process.
Committee members welcomed the new business and stopped to take photos with Singh and other officials after his remarks.
The shop’s location at 8460 Wicker Drive is described in the meeting as the second unit as drivers enter the Jameson Plaza parking lot, located behind the Taco Bell at that address.
