San Luis police introduce new officers, chaplains and staff

San Luis — San Luis Police Chief Miguel Reynoso introduced new members of the San Luis Police Department during a presentation to the City Council.
Chief Reynoso presented three volunteer police chaplains — Joseph Reynoso, David Reynoso and Elida Valenzuela — and described the chaplaincy program as a volunteer service that provides critical-incident stress management, post-trauma counseling and confidential spiritual and emotional support to officers, families and community members upon request.
Chief Reynoso also introduced transit enforcement officer Fabian Navarro and communications officer Joseline Rodriguez, who each have about three months with the agency, and four newly sworn officers: Samantha Barraza, Javier Benavides, Luis Lopez and Alejandro Robledo. Chief Reynoso said officers Barraza, Benavides and Robledo recently graduated from the law-enforcement training academy at Arizona Western College.
Council members offered public thanks and cautioned the new officers to take care and return safely. The mayor and council then invited the group to join a group photo.
