Castle Park students demand board publicly oppose ICE on campuses, seek resolutions to protect undocumented students

The students presented four specific demands: (1) a public statement in solidarity with undocumented students that repudiates ICE presence on school campuses; (2) a board resolution supporting California Senate Bill 48 (as referenced by the students) limiting immigration enforcement access and information sharing at school sites; (3) a resolution safeguarding student and staff activism during the school day, including walkouts and marches; and (4) a resolution protecting students and staff from administrative retaliation if they obstruct ICE agents on campus. The students asked for an expedited meeting and board consideration of the resolutions.
