Avon parks director: DNR approves partnership to help maintain Burnett Woods Nature Preserve

She said the preserve is state-dedicated land of about 80 acres and that town staff expect to bring more concrete partnership details back to the council once they are worked out.
Pride also reported outreach activity at the parks foundation event: the parks department staffed an information table showing plans for Burnett Park, Wynton Meadows and planned pickleball facilities and said the table drew substantial community interest.
Separately, Pride reported that the town's Tree City USA application for 2024 was approved, marking 18 consecutive years of recognition since the town's first award in 2007. Pride said she will place an Arbor Day proclamation on an April council agenda and that staff will present the proclamation at that meeting.
No formal action was taken on the partnership at the March 13 meeting; staff said they would return with details and any required agreements for council consideration.
