Committee members reviewed the fairgrounds’ budget and capital items. Bill Reynolds presented options for a mobile stage after the committee determined a permanent structure was prohibitively expensive. Reynolds reported the mobile stage quoted from a supplier (Apex Liberty/Liberty Stage of Indiana) would be delivered for $47,295 and includes LED stage lighting and a light mixing board; it does not include sound equipment. The selected unit is a 24-by-14 portable stage with a transport height of about 12 feet 7 inches. Reynolds said funds for the purchase are available in this year’s capital budget—$50,000 is budgeted for a stage and $15,000 is budgeted for repairs at the fairgrounds.
The committee discussed storage and winter protection for the unit; Reynolds said the company recommends an RV-style cover if the stage is stored outdoors. The committee approved a motion to accept the stage purchase; the motion was seconded and passed.
Separately, parks staff (Darren) introduced the annual resolution to participate in the Wisconsin State motorized recreational grant program. Darren explained the program supports maintenance of motorized trails (snowmobile, ATV/UTV) and distributes funds to clubs for maintenance work. Committee members clarified the county does not receive a direct share of those funds distributed to clubs; the resolution establishes the county’s participation in the state maintenance-account process. The committee moved and passed the resolution by voice vote.
