Field trips: The committee approved a Hingham High School dance team trip to the New England championships in Trumbull, Connecticut on March 15, 2025 and a chorus/drama day trip to New York City on June 14, 2025.
School choice: The committee voted to withdraw from the Massachusetts interdistrict school choice program for the 2025–26 school year; administration said Hingham has not historically participated and does not recommend joining at this time, largely because of service‑provider capacity concerns.
Competency determination: The committee approved an updated competency‑determination proposal for the Class of 2025 that uses completion of specific coursework (ninth‑ and tenth‑grade English, Algebra/Geometry and Biology passing grades) in place of MCAS, pending any further guidance from the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Grant: The committee accepted a $3,200 Financial Education Innovation Fund grant to support Hingham High School’s annual “Credit for Life” fair.
Executive session: At the end of the meeting the committee voted to adjourn into executive session for collective bargaining and litigation strategy and did not return to open session.
