On the financial item, district fiscal staff presented the second interim report showing a projected enrollment of about 3,941 students and a multiyear projection that reflects declining enrollment and the loss of COVID‑era one‑time funds. The board voted to approve the second interim report, which staff described as a “positive certification” — meaning the district can meet its obligations for the current year and the next two years under current assumptions.
Board members also approved the consent agenda, which included routine purchasing, personnel actions, and several vendor agreements. Among contracts approved were a short‑term technology services agreement to assess and stabilize district network infrastructure (vendor: K2O Logic LLC) and expanded temporary services for related speech and psychological services to manage caseloads and independent evaluations. Several procurement and personnel items were approved as part of the consent agenda.
During public discussion the board debated modifying its livestreaming practice to broadcast meetings in full, including after closed session. A trustee moved to livestream meetings in their entirety; other trustees asked for legal and technical review. The board did not adopt a change immediately and directed staff to return next month with procedural and legal details before making a change.
The board also held a public hearing and approved the district’s initial proposal for 2024‑25 negotiations with the Classified School Employees Association and accepted the union’s counterpart proposal. Several routine resolutions — including claims and administrative rescissions recommended by CSBA — were approved by roll call.
No board motions were recorded that closed or consolidated any school; the consolidation study presented by MGT was an informational item and will return for further work and community engagement.
