Authority hears project updates; Cache Air Fest scheduled for June 28

Consultant and staff updates: Lochner reported the master-plan open house scheduling (separate item) and project consultant Connor Butterfield said taxiway reconstruction (Taxiway Charlie) and new Taxiway Kilo construction are planned this year; Charlie's scope was submitted for staff review and taxiway Kilo had a kickoff meeting with the FAA. Staff also reported a pavement-painting project is pending favorable weather and that they will move the PAPI power-control unit to a location between the runway and taxiway to avoid trenching under pavement while remaining within manufacturer voltage-distance specs.
Maintenance updates: tower cleanup work has been awarded and crews are scheduled to reinstall fixtures and glass (using a light tint rather than painted glass) over a roughly five-day period once a lift is scheduled. Snow-removal and foreign object debris (FOD) cleanup after melting snow were described as ongoing operational focuses.
Event: an organizer reported that Cache Air Fest (training and education summit on Friday, June 27, and main public event Saturday, June 28) received approval from the state division of aeronautics; a NOTAM will be issued for the show day (expect closures between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. with intermittent releases for aircraft operations). The organizer said registration and marketing materials will be available in about a week.
