Bulldog Stadium nears completion; legacy complex work continues as La Porte ISD readies facility for spring events

La Porte ISD construction staff told trustees March 11 that the new Bulldog Stadium is nearing completion and that work on the Legacy Complex and other bond projects continues across the district.
Project staff said much of the stadium work is at final stages: concrete and finish work was scheduled, landscaping and traffic-coating are imminent, the main video board has been installed and sound systems are being integrated. "The video board was put up this week," a projects manager said, and landscaping and wayfinding work will follow. Concourse painting, concession finishing and installation of stadium lighting and cameras were underway.
The Legacy Complex remains in late-stage construction. Staff said HVAC and interior work are in place and lockers and weight-room equipment had been delivered. While the Legacy Complex will not be fully operational at move-in, staff told trustees they are confident the stadium itself will be ready to host graduation and other spring events. "We'll be in the stadium. The Legacy Complex will not be ready, but we feel fully confident we'll be able to host graduation and be fully functioning," the project lead said.
Administrators also reported continued investment on additional campus projects — carpet, flooring and facility repairs — and advised the board that buses and vans from a grant/ procurement process are arriving in stages. Multiple trustees toured the stadium prior to the meeting and praised the workmanship and longevity of materials chosen for the project.
No additional board vote was required; the item was an informational construction update tied to bond-authorized projects the board approved previously.
