St. Lucie school board adopts artificial intelligence, emergency and transportation policy updates in 5-0 vote

The board combined several proposals for a single vote. The package included a new policy listed as Policy 7540.08 (Artificial Intelligence) and amendments described in the meeting as policies 1430.03, 3430.03, 4430.03 (sick leave related), Policy 7100 (Facilities Planning), Policy 8415 (Emergency and Crisis Management), Policy 8420 (Emergency Management: Preparedness and Response Agencies), and Policy 8600 (Transportation). Board member Mr. Ingersoll moved to adopt the recommendations and Ms. Harrison seconded the motion.
Board Chair Dr. Donna Mills called for a vote after there was no discussion from members and the motion carried unanimously, "Aye" five times. No public speakers appeared during the hearing and no substantive amendments to the package were recorded in the meeting transcript.
