The Livingston City Planning Commission on March 11 approved its meeting agenda and conducted annual leadership elections, unanimously electing Steve Bassi as chair and nominating Renee Mendonca to serve as vice chair.
At the start of the meeting commissioners voted 5-0 to approve the agenda. Later in the meeting the commission nominated and voted to appoint Steve Bassi as chair for the balance of the year; the nomination was approved by roll call, 5-0. The commission then nominated Renee Mendonca for vice chair; the nomination was approved by roll call, 5-0. Mendonca was not present at the meeting and the commission discussed that, if she declines, the body will reopen nominations.
The commission also heard administrative reminders from staff: the city will coordinate Brown Act training and FPPC Form 700 (statement of economic interests) filing reminders. Community Development staff said they plan to invite City Council members and the Parks and Recreation Commission to a Brown Act training workshop, tentatively proposed for the commission’s April 8 meeting if council scheduling allows. Staff also reminded commissioners that Form 700 filings are due April 1 and that the FPPC provides online filing access.
Roll-call votes were recorded for each formal action. For the agenda approval and the chair and vice chair elections, the roll call recorded affirmative votes from Commissioners Jose Flores and Jasnil Singh, Chair Steve Bassi, and alternate commissioners Diego Castillo and Mohinder Khanda. Each motion passed 5-0.
The meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
