Wooster Veil Service Commission abolishes plant operator eligible list

The Wooster Veil Service Commission voted unanimously on Nov. 18, 2024, to abolish its eligible list for plant operator at a brief public meeting, Commission Chairman Reg Kramer said.

The action ends the commission's existing eligible list for hiring a plant operator. The motion was made by commission member Steve Slack and seconded by commission member Susan Buckwalter; all members present voted in favor. There was no discussion before the vote.

The commission began by approving the minutes of its Oct. 21, 2024, meeting. That motion was moved by Steve Slack and seconded (name not specified in the record); members then voted to approve the minutes.

During the meeting's final business, staff member Jeanette told commissioners the next meeting may include testing for either a plant operator or a plant police officer and that testing could occur in December. Commissioners did not add further direction at the Nov. 18 meeting.

"I move that we abolish the plant operator eligible list," commission member Steve Slack said when placing the motion on the record. Chairman Reg Kramer called for a voice vote, and members responded "aye." Jeanette confirmed there were no other agenda items.

The meeting was short and procedural, consisting chiefly of roll call, approval of minutes and the single personnel-related motion. Commissioners closed the meeting after the vote and exchanged year-end thanks.
