Representative David Gomberg, the carrier on the floor, described the legislation as "a compromise I don't like very much," and urged colleagues to support it to end Oregon’s involvement in wagers on greyhound racing. Gomberg said the hubs that remain in Oregon currently take bets on races held in other countries and states, and he criticized long-standing licensing terms that have not been renegotiated in about 20 years. He said the licensing return to the state is "about 50¢ on every $100 that is wagered."
Representative Neeron, speaking in favor of the bill, said ADW hubs processed "over $83,000,000 in advanced deposit wagering" in 2023 and that greyhound racing accounted for "only 1.3% of total ADW revenue in Oregon," or about "$72,547."…
