Senate committee sends DOR statute-of-limitations bill to the floor

The Senate Committee on Finance and Revenue voted March 12 to move Senate Bill 799 to the Senate floor with a due-pass recommendation. The bill aligns statute-of-limitations deadlines for taxpayers to request refunds and for the Oregon Department of Revenue (DOR) to adjust tax due across all programs administered by DOR.
Kyle Easton of the Legislative Revenue Office briefed the committee and said the bill replaces program-specific lists with descriptive language applying uniform deadlines across DOR-managed programs. The committee’s materials characterized the fiscal and revenue impacts as minimal.
Vice Chair MacLean moved the bill to the floor; the committee named Senator Starr as the carrier. The motion passed on the committee vote.
