The contract with Wood Valley was previously discussed during the "matters of council discussion" portion of the agenda; staff reported they had sought clarification about non-compete language and provided a letter from Mead & Hunt indicating the arrangement "does not pose a conflict of interest" while noting the letter did not explicitly create a non-compete restriction. Councilmembers said the Mead & Hunt letter, on corporate letterhead, allayed their concerns sufficiently to send the item to legislation for adoption.
Procedural votes earlier in the meeting included adoption of the meeting agenda and approval of special-meeting and closed-session minutes. The council deferred approval of the regular meeting minutes because a copy was not present for one member and set that item for a future meeting.
No amendments to Resolution 25-02 were made at the meeting; staff will proceed with contracting steps authorized by the adopted resolution.
