County-hosted Clear Lake Hitch outreach to feature state and tribal agencies

A community outreach presentation on the state-listed Clear Lake Hitch is scheduled for Thursday evening in the Lake County Board Chambers, a public commenter said during the board's public-comment period.
The presentation, organized locally and promoted during the meeting, will include speakers from the California State Water Resources Control Board, the Habematul Pomo of Upper Lake, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Lake County Watershed Protection District, public commenter Angela said. The event is being sponsored by the Farm Bureau and will be livestreamed on the County of Lake Facebook page and later posted on the Water Resources YouTube channel, she said.
Angela, who provided printed flyers to the supervisors and members of the public, said the meeting runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and will update attendees on “some current activities that are going on with Hitch” and “some of the activities at the state level.”
The announcement came during the board's public-comment period; no formal action was taken by the supervisors on the item. The county indicated the presentation will be recorded for later viewing, and the organizer provided flyers for distribution.
The board moderator acknowledged the comment and accepted the flyer distribution. The county did not provide additional details about the event agenda or whether staff will present follow-up materials to the board.
Attendance and outreach materials will determine what follow-up, if any, appears on future agendas.
