The Pensacola Children's Chorus performed at the start of the meeting as a special presentation supported by the Escambia Children's Trust.
Jay Griggs, a first‑year participant with the chorus who spoke briefly to the board, said, “I just want to say I really enjoy this program and it's a great opportunity for singers like me to find like their passion. ... I'm really grateful for you guys and just doing this makes me really happy.” Staff and board members said about 20 singers attending tonight were supported through Escambia Children’s Trust funding.
Board members thanked the chorus and encouraged the singers to continue and to spread the word so more children can participate. The chorus noted it had another performance scheduled with the Florida State University Concert Choir later that evening.
Ending: The board expressed appreciation for the presentation; staff and members encouraged continued community support and outreach to increase participation in the chorus.
