The board approved the appointment of seven community volunteers to serve as CARES grant reviewers: Stephen Bauer, John Brooks, Tiffany Coleman, Willie Kirkland, Josh Newby, David Powell and Lisonbee Snowden King.
Staff noted that most of the volunteers also applied for board seats and that one nominee, Josh Newby, joined the reviewer list after staff received his materials; program staff said Mr. Newby’s resume did not go through program committee vetting and the board approved his inclusion tonight. The motion to appoint the reviewers was seconded and the board voted in favor.
Program staff said the grants committee review is scheduled for March 24, starting at 9 a.m. at the Trust office. Staff reported 44 applications had been submitted, and after a partial technical review they expected at least 42 applications to be ready for scoring. Staff cautioned the review day will be heavy and encouraged reviewers to plan to spend the necessary time.
Ending: Reviewers will score applications on March 24; staff will reach out to providers for technical questions during the coming weeks and notify the appointed reviewers of meeting logistics.
