City planners told the commission the plan responds to rapid growth near Mount Charleston, identifies possible nodes of mixed-use development near the Interstate 11/US‑95 interchange and lays out policy guidance for landscaping, water‑wise design and trail connections to nearby public lands.
Marco Velada, planner with the City of Las Vegas Department of Community Development, described the plan as “a way to bring the 2050 master plan down to the neighborhood and street level,” and said staff and a consultant team used public outreach in 2023–24 to shape recommendations. “This is the northwestern gateway to the Las Vegas Valley and the Spring Mountains,” Velada said, noting the plan anticipates as many as 14,000…
