Tom also read that the council would consider granting a nonexclusive franchise agreement to Fiber Utility Network, Inc., doing business as Alabama Fiber Network, to operate and maintain a telecommunications system within the city limits. He said the council would also consider Amendment No. 7 to the FY2025 general fund budget.
