Votes: Board accepts superintendent evaluation; recognizes Bismarck Education Association as negotiating unit

The Bismarck School Board took three formal actions March 10 in votes the board recorded during roll call.
Superintendent summative evaluation accepted A motion by board member Mr. Lee to accept the superintendent's spring 2025 summative evaluation as satisfactory passed on roll call. Recorded votes were "yes" from Lee, Peterson, Zabrowski, Hager and President Dan Eastgate. No dissenting votes were recorded during the roll call.
Bismarck Education Association recognized as negotiating unit The board voted to recognize the Bismarck Education Association as the representative negotiating organization for certified/licensed staff (classroom teachers, librarians and counselors) for a minimum of one year beginning July 1, 2025. The motion was moved by Ms. Peterson and seconded; roll call recorded "yes" from Peterson, Presky, Hager, Lee and Eastgate. The board announced the motion passed.
Consent agenda approved The board approved the consent agenda by motion of Mr. Hager with a second; roll call responses included "yes" from Hager, Lee and Peterson and the chair declared the motion passed.
No votes on cutting or reassigning elementary orchestra instruction occurred during the meeting; the superintendent said the orchestra recommendation remains under review and no final action was taken at this session.
