GWRC planner Carrie Eaves presented the redlined plan and noted the packet distributed to supervisors included only the pages that changed in response to comments. The plan outlines pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements in the Dahlgren area and identifies project concepts and next steps for study and funding.
Supervisor Bender moved to approve the plan and the motion carried on a roll call vote; the transcript records Supervisor Collins voting no while Supervisors Sullins, Stroud, Bender and the chair voted aye.
The plan will serve as a framework for applying for transportation grants and coordinating with VDOT on small-scale engineering and safety projects in the Dahlgren area. Staff and GWRC will continue project development and public outreach for specific walk/bike improvements identified in the plan.
