County awards Bridal 155 contract, readies two Community Crossings applications

Nate Rubschlag, Adams County highway engineer, told commissioners Grumbaugh submitted the apparent low bid of $295,000 for the Bridal 155 project. Commissioners approved the award and signed contract documents at the meeting so the county can proceed; the engineer said the county expects to secure 75% funding through the Community Crossings program and will turn in final application materials before the Jan. 31 deadline.
Rubschlag also updated commissioners on two Community Crossings applications being finalized for 2025: Bridge 180 (intersection of 825 S. and 650 W.) and an asphalt overlay with minor structural work on 300 North from U.S. 27 to the western county line. The engineer said the state’s first-call allocation for the program this year is $1.5 million and that the county is submitting both projects to maximize its chances for funding. No further action was required on the grant submissions during the meeting; staff will finalize and submit the applications by Jan. 31.
