Construction update: East Blos projects advancing; roof work and sign replacements proposed

Barr also said monument sign base construction will take about two to three days per site with cabinet installation to follow; the signs will be standardized and modeled on the one at STEAM Academy.
Barr noted Ramway improvements will proceed after the school year and that some sites will host two active construction projects simultaneously, requiring coordination meetings with contractors and school leaders. For East Blos 6, groundbreaking ceremonies have occurred at each high school, erosion control fencing is in place and demolition is expected this month.
Separately, the superintendent recommended awarding roof repair and replacement contracts to Dusty Greer Roofing for West Newton Elementary and the Porter Performing Arts Center (contract value presented as $870,060) and for Oak Hill Elementary ($867,500). The transcript records board members asking questions about sign mockups and whether the roofing vendor has prior experience; Barr said the district has “a high level of confidence” in the contractor and that some contractors and the architect were familiar with the vendor.
