The defendant in that Green Cove Springs case advanced multiple arguments — facial invalidity, due-process claims, alleged Fourth and Fifth Amendment violations, and Florida constitutional challenges — and the trial court denied those claims. The attorney said the decision is “on point” for Orange Park because the jurisdictions share the same circuit and that it supports continued enforcement under the red-light camera program; she noted that appeals are possible from a trial-court ruling.
No new ordinance or council action was taken; the town attorney said the matter would be helpful precedent if the town’s red-light citations are challenged in local courts.
