The Town of Orange Park Council voted Jan. 20 to piggyback a competitively bid JEA contract with Ferguson Water Works for the purchase of water system materials such as valves, sleeves, joints and hydrants.
Public works director Kyle Crocey said Ferguson’s extension of JEA pricing benefits Orange Park because JEA’s bulk purchasing secures lower prices and rapid availability. The town will continue to buy materials and use town crews to install them. Council approved the motion by voice vote 5-0.
