The Town of Orange Park Council voted to extend its existing contract with Pat’s Nursery for tree purchases and installation for two additional years and authorized the town attorney to add required Florida statutory contract provisions, including a current human-trafficking compliance clause.
Public works director Kyle Crocey said the town has been satisfied with Pat’s performance, citing on-site planning, warranty replacement of trees and responsiveness. Several council members favored competitiveness and transparency; one asked staff to consider going out for a new request for proposals, but the motion approved a two-year extension with the town attorney authorized to add necessary statutory updates.
The motion passed with council voice votes recorded as 4-0. The council asked staff to maintain price transparency and to compare year-over-year pricing when purchases are made under the extension.
