Board reviews minor fee increases and expands dual-credit course listings for 2025–26

Debbie (presenter) reviewed proposed changes to the 2025–26 fee schedules and course guides for Lincoln Middle School and Pullman High School.

At the high school, staff proposed raising the senior lifetime fitness class fee from $40 to $50 to cover rising field-trip costs and adding fees for CTSO (career and technical student organization) clubs so materials costs are uniformly covered. The ASB card structure would move from a single $50 card to two options: a $30 card for students who primarily participate in clubs and a $70 athletic card for students who participate in sports and associated travel. "We did make a couple changes to our fee schedule," the presenter said, explaining the rationale for the split-price structure.

Middle-school ASB cards would remain unchanged at $30. Board members asked whether the higher athletic card price reflected transportation and travel costs; the presenter said that the athletic card difference helps offset athletics-related expenses, while club participants pay less. The presenter confirmed that fees for clubs refer to club activities, not class coursework.

On course approvals, Debbie said the district had not added new courses but had updated the course book to show which Career and Technical Education courses and other classes offer dual college credit. The district will add a note to indicate "credit available through" and identify partner colleges in the next revision, and the presenter confirmed college-credit enrollment is optional and there is no direct cost to students choosing the college-credit option.

The board did not take an action vote on the fee schedule or course approval at the meeting; staff will bring final materials back as needed.
